SUSTAINABILITY
At Secret Saviours, we aim to share our sustainability journey with transparency and honesty.
Sustainability will always be at the forefront of every product we create without compromising on comfort and efficacy.
We care about how our products are made, and are proud to source materials for our apparel, cream and gels from the UK, Turkey and Poland.
When it comes to choosing where we make our prevention wear we looked at a number of different factors - materials, price, labour practises and the environmental work of the factories. We care about the credentials and ethics of our supply chain and our founder and team visited the Turkish factory and spent a day there working through every aspect of the supply chain.
Fabric and Factory
Our factory in Turkey has multiple certifications including being a member of Business Social Compliance Initiative. BSCI requirements cover source materials, manufacturing quality, labour, and working conditions. BSCI provides a system to help companies improve conditions in their supply chain, such as ensuring no child labour and that fair wages are paid to the teams manufacturing the products.
Our factory has been audited by SEDEX. The SEDEX audit is based on site visits, policy reviews and interviews with the teams. It focuses on health and safety, labour, environment, and business ethics.
The fabrics we use and the production methods in the factories have been accredited by Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). This independent certification looks at the entire textile supply chain, ensuring organic fibres are used and certain nasty chemicals banned. There is also a focus on waste reduction and checks on the working conditions. The fabrics are accredited by the Global Recycling Standard (GRS) to verify their recycled content and chain of custody and OEKO-TEX, meaning that no harmful substances are used in the making of these clothes.
We are proud to say that, to our knowledge, we are the first pregnancy underwear brand to use recycled yarns and eco dyes and our products have been OEKO-TEX tested and passed.
tubes and our cream and gel formulas
We use a renowned sugarcane tube manufacturer in Poland.
Sugarcane tubes are made from bio-based polyethylene (at least 96%), which is obtained from sugarcane. This type of packaging does not consist of potentially harmful Biosfenol. The production of the eco-polyethylene they use is associated with the reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The production of each kilogram of this material means absorbing 3.09 kilograms of CO2 from the air.
In addition, as much as 80% of the energy needed to produce eco friendly squeeze tube comes from renewable energy sources. By using sugarcane tubes, we make a real contribution to reducing the greenhouse effect and protecting nature.
Our eco friendly tubes can be easily recycled.
We use an accredited UK manufacturer to create and mix our Day gel and Night Cream.
Our factory has a proven track record of creating innovative and effective solutions which minimise the impact on our environment. They have been committed to sourcing local and sustainable ingredients wherever possible, and offering a range of premium, eco-friendly packaging solutions.
