To understand the science behind Secret Saviours textile technology, it helps to have a heads up on stretch marks and what gets them started.

In a nutshell, as the skin adjusts to the stresses and strains caused by stretching skin during pregnancy, tiny little micro tears begin to form at pressure points and eventually, if the pressure continues, the dermis is partially torn. These tears, or stretch marks, always run at right angles to the body’s natural skin lines and once they appear they will never completely disappear.

After years of research our inventors, 2 doctors from UCH London, found a way to stop this process of stretch marks forming. They created Derma Dot™ Intelligent Skin Support – next-generation textile technology consisting of clever tacky pads printed onto snuggly fitting shapewear. These clever pads hold the skin in place, dispersing the pressure as the skin stretches, and blocking the path of stretch marks as they try to rip downwards through the dermis.

Secret Saviours 3-step system has been rigorously tested in clinical and independent consumer trials. The results were amazing and both have shown that our preventionwear, when worn alongside our Day Gel and Night Cream, can prevent a very significant number of women from stretch marks. These findings have been independently verified and endorsed by medical experts including the American Academy of Dermatology and a group of top dermatologists lead by London based Dr Sunhil Chopra.

In our independent clinical trial around 70% (66% to be precise) of users didn’t get stretch marks and 20% had less severe stretch marks because they used Secret Saviours (we know this because we can compare them against the group who didn’t use our system).

We conducted our consumer trial after we’d made improvements to our Derma Dot™ technology - reducing the size of the pads and increasing the quantity.
