Because, let’s face it, nobody has time for it!
This is arguably the worst thing about pregnancy. But it’s actually completely normal and ironically a good sign. It means your hormone levels are high enough to grow a healthy baby. So rejoice and try these brilliant remedies and tips to make morning sickness a thing of the past.
Water, Water And More Water
Keeping hydrated is essential for you right now. The more dehydrated you are, the more nauseated you feel. Drinking water can be tricky when you feel sick, but try nibbling on salty snacks like pretzels to get you good and thirsty.
Snacks
Foods like cheese with crackers, pretzels or low fat yoghurt can be great at relieving morning sickness. Also hot drinks such as ginger or peppermint tea are good stomach soothers.
Fresh Scents
You might notice that smells tend to trigger nausea. Sometimes, at the office or out with friends, a potent perfume scent can be unavoidable. Try carrying a bottle of lemon extract or a fresh sprig of rosemary in your bag to sniff on.
Be Honest
If your other half insists on trying to snog you after dinner without brushing their teeth, it’s actually ok to tell them this sends your gag reflex into overdrive. Just reassure them that it’s only temporary – they won’t be offended. Let them know other ways they can help you. Honesty really is the best policy.
