Does Secret Saviours Work? The Clinical Study, Explained

  • 2 min read

When you're pregnant, you deserve to see the facts behind the products you use — not just a "clinically proven" badge. So here is exactly what our clinical study tested, what it found, and, just as importantly, what it doesn't claim.

What was actually tested

The trial evaluated the complete Secret Saviours three-step system used together:

The maternity support band (worn during the day) + The Day Gel (twice daily) + The Night Cream (once at bedtime)

Women began at approximately 12–14 weeks of pregnancy and continued until term. Importantly, the study tested all three parts working together — not the band, gel or cream on their own. The comparison group used no study cream and no support device.

What the study found

66% of women using the complete Secret Saviours system remained free from abdominal stretch marks, compared with 34% of women in the control group.

Looked at the other way, stretch-mark incidence was 34% with the system versus 66% without it — roughly a 50% relative reduction. In short: nearly twice the proportion of women stayed stretch-mark free when they used the full routine.

And when stretch marks did appear, they were typically milder. The median severity score was 4 out of 10 with Secret Saviours, compared with 7 out of 10 in the control group (marks were scored visually from 0 = none to 10 = multiple, very severe).

How the results were assessed

The final analysis included 120 women: 60 who used the complete system and 60 in the control group. Abdominal photographs were taken near the start of pregnancy and again at 36–38+ weeks.

Those photographs were then scored by six independent expert assessors who did not know whether each set belonged to a Secret Saviours user or a control-group participant, and the results were collated by an independent medical statistician. It was a randomised controlled trial with ethics-committee approval, and participants were not paid.

The straight-talking bit

We think honesty matters more than hype, so here's the important context:

  • The trial tested the complete system together, so it can't tell us how much of the result came from the band, the Day Gel or the Night Cream individually.
  • No study can promise a particular outcome for every pregnancy. Some women using the system still developed stretch marks, and every body and every pregnancy is different.
  • What the trial showed is that women using the full Secret Saviours routine had a lower incidence of abdominal stretch marks and a lower median severity than the control group.

What about the reviews?

Separately from the trial, in a 2016 consumer survey, 82% of respondents who said they used Secret Saviours as directed reported no stomach stretch marks. This was a self-reported consumer survey rather than a controlled clinical trial, and we keep it separate from the clinical result for exactly that reason.
