Summer Mocktails You Must Try

 

Cocktails are so indulging.  They look irresistible, taste divine and make us feel like summer’s really on the way.  The great news for everyone not wanting to consume alcohol this summer is mocktails can look and taste just as good.

Here are seven of our favourite mocktails for this season – one for every day of the week.  And believe me, there’s nothing mock about these at all!

 

1. Nojito

8 fresh mint leaves and a cut up lime

Pour over 1-1/2 ounces sugar syrup and 2 ounces of club soda

Add 3 ounces of lime juice

Mix with crushed ice

 

2. Raspberry Cream Soda

A handful of Raspberries

Crush and mix with ice

Pour over cream soda 

 

3. Garden Fizz

2 teaspoons of lemon juice

2 teaspoons of lime

A slice of fresh lime

Add a shot of Seedlip Garden (non-alcoholic gin)

Top with Tonic

 

4. Sangria

Add 1 decaf tea bag to 1 cup of boiling water

1 cinnamon sticks

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

1/2 medium orange, sliced into thin rounds

1/2 medium lemon, sliced into thin rounds

1/2 medium lime, sliced into thin rounds

1/2 medium apple, cored and cut into 1/2-inch chunks

Top with 1 cup carbonated water (depending on how sweet you want it) and add crushed ice to chill

 

5. Pomegranate Fizz

1 lemon for twists

Add 2 cups chilled ginger ale

1 cup chilled pomegranate juice

Crushed ice

Pour over 1 cup soda water (or more if you prefer)

 

6. Strawberry Cream

4 oz plain Yogurt 

1 cup sliced Fresh Strawberries

2 Bananas

1 cup Cold Milk

Blend with 1/2 cup crushed ice or Ice Cream (or both)

Top with a sprig of mint

 

7. Cranberry Cooler

2 oz Cranberry juice

1/2 tablespoon Lime juice

Add ice

Pour over soda water

Mint and fresh cranberries for decoration
