Nine Best Pregnancy Jeans

Stay stylish with your bump

It was the grunt heard round the world: expectant fashionistas optimistically struggling into their favourite pair of skinny jeans. That was before the arrival of the pregnancy pair.

That’s right, ladies. You can maintain your personal style in comfort and without stress. To help, Secret Saviours has put its best team of denim investigators on the case to research the most chic and comfy jeans ever! (Yes, ever.)

First up, Mothercare – they really do. Their Blooming Marvellous Under The Bump jeans (£24) have proven a big hit with the pregnant fash pack. These bootcut beauties are made with elastic side adjusters for added comfort.

Happy customer Katie was not shy to let the whole world know how comfortable she found hers. “These jeans are so comfortable,” (see?) “and with the band being below my bump, I can wear them for the majority of the day without feeling like I want to put jogging bottoms on.” She awarded them 10 out of 10. Corrine revealed how “snug” she found the fit, rating hers 8 out of 10.

Next, Next. (Couldn’t resist.) Their Bright Blue skinny jeans (£30) cover the entire bump, so no chance of being caught short, if you, er, get our meaning… With an average rating of 4.5 stars out of 5, we reckon these will fast become your favourite pair of jeans. Christa29 said, “These are exactly what I was looking for. They’re great for dressing up or down and are really comfy.” She gave them 5 out of 5.

Take a walk on the white side in Gap’s 1969 inset panel Resolution true skinny skimmer jeans (we kid you not – full name). Soft and ready to buy in sizes 4 to 20, these bad boys (£44.95) are mid-risers with a slight crop to the hem – all the better to show off those ankles, my dear. They’re the perfect colour to usher in the new season.

Go even shorter with JoJo Maman Bébé’s cropped jeans (£29). Made from a “stretchy” cotton twill and a wide jersey waistband, the company says these will “grow with you as your shape changes”. Oh, yes ’t’will!

Reviewers say the jeans are “fairly true to size” and Louise warns they may be “just a tiny bit see-through around the bottom” – but admits sweetly, “Maybe this is because I refuse to buy the size up…” We hear you, Louise!

If grey is more your thing, (we refuse to make a pun of thatfilm! But we won’t judge), we’re loving this pair from Séraphine (£59). According to the yummy mummy haven, Hollywood sweetheart Jessica Alba is a fan of their Luxe straight, skinny leg.

Reviewer Suzanne found them “super flattering and very comfortable”, while IlonaE said, “I can’t praise the Luxe skinny jeans enough. Top quality fabric – six months on and there are no signs of wear. The cut is perfect, the sizing is spot on.” We think she liked them.

Topshop’s Moto Leigh jeans (£38) are also a good grey option to complete a rock-chic look. Their elastic waist sits just beneath your bump for a good fit. Giving her pair top marks, Mamatobe123 said they were a “great fit and super comfy – I highly recommend these”.

Find a darker option in 7 For All Mankind’s skinny Gummy jeans (£180). The company says, “The body-sculpting (we like where this is going) fit is characterised by its minimal detailing, clean pockets and second-skin silhouette.” That’s what we’re talking about!

Debenhams’ Red Herring range includes a sweet pair of dark blue bootcut jeans (£28). This over-bump design is proving popular with customers, scoring an average of 4.3 out of 5. This isn’t Charmaine’s first time at the pregnancy rodeo, as she revealed, “Vast improvement on Red Herring maternity jeans I bought for my previous pregnancy three years ago.” Good work, ‘Debs’! Charmaine continues, we imagine wearing a razor sharp bob haircut and glasses, “Over-tummy material section now has elastic at the top, so it sits snugly and doesn’t keep falling down.

“They’re also made of a lighter, stretchy, more comfortable material, which looks good. Can’t recommend enough.” Well, we can’t recommend your review enough, Charmaine.

Mamas & Papasdark indigo wash skinny jeans (£36) are under-bump stunners available in sizes 10 to 16. Although she rated them 5 out of 5, Monia warns that they are “more straight style than skinny”, but says they’re “still a really good, comfy fit”.

PippaL couldn’t quite contain her excitement at finding her pair. “Finally! Maternity jeans with style,” she gushed. “The under-the-bump band is really comfortable and the colour is the perfect dark wash.” PippaL also gave them top marks.

And now you have seen the most chic and comfy jeans EVER!

So which pair gets your vote?
